The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gerrit Janssens showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 15th play minute Rick Schouten came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gerrit Janssens. 1-0. 21 minutes into the match, Weurd Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Mickael van den Bergh came free, but Gerrit Janssens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roeland Even kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. If Max Kosterman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

It was a penalty for Weurd Excelsior! 60 minutes into the match, Weurd Excelsior's goal looked a bit too open when Rick Schouten came free, but Gerrit Janssens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Klaus Ieberts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Kosterman in the 61st minute of play. Mickael van den Bergh scored 2-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gerrit Janssens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roeland Even got free with Klaus Ieberts in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mickael van den Bergh in the 72nd minute of play forced Weurd Excelsior's goalkeeper Gerrit Janssens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roeland Even sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to FC Dutch Degradatie getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Fokke Wemers hit a great ball. Fokke Wemers charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fokke Wemers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Max Kosterman sped through FC Dutch Degradatie's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Klaus Ieberts. In the 97th minute, Julius van Bommel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Weurd Excelsior's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
