Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alfred Boswijk started the match with the kick off. Alfred Boswijk struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Stephan Wagenaar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dieze. Dieze's Folker van Zonderen suffered a concussion after 8 minutes and had to leave the field. 8 minutes into the game, Marco Doren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Real Zaandam's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dieze the free kick. After 9 played minutes FC Real Zaandam got a freekick which was hit by Marco Doren. Chris Riemers scored 1-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hubert Grasmaaijer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Real Zaandam's Marco Doren got his second yellow card of the match in the 17th minute. The referee ordered Marco Doren off the ground. A collision led to FC Real Zaandam getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Marco Doren hit a great ball. A collision led to Dieze getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Nathan Vrede hit a great ball. If Tomas Pluym had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chris Riemers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35th minute, John Bakker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jan Hendrik de Vries charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan Hendrik de Vries the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Dieze getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jan Hendrik de Vries hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chris Riemers got free with Hubert Grasmaaijer in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Chris Riemers made a kick off. After 52 played minutes FC Real Zaandam got a freekick which was hit by Pieter-Jan Zadelhoff. Chris Riemers took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hubert Grasmaaijer. Hubert Grasmaaijer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Tomas Pluym sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Pluym recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Jan Hendrik de Vries was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 66 minutes had been played. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Tomas Pluym managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dieze's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Pluym was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stephan Wagenaar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chris Riemers struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Hubert Grasmaaijer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Real Zaandam. When Chris Riemers came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the FC Real Zaandam fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Riemers couldn't finish the play. Dieze's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
