In the 29th minute, Reinhard Bergen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steven Groten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teo Rooze in the 35th minute of play. When Reinhard Bergen fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vinkenbuurt's protests and gave Reinhard Bergen a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Vinkenbuurt getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Reinhard Bergen hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the match, Vinkenbuurt's goal looked a bit too open when Matthijs de Graaf came free, but Steven Groten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Wilfred Kuis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute of the match Diderik Senden shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yuri Owusu Abeyie showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 78th minute Sjors Hoeksma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yuri Owusu Abeyie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steven Groten made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Matthijs de Graaf sent off a good shot on target. The referee ignored Vinkenbuurt's protests and gave Sander Snoeks a yellow card for diving instead. The Vinkenbuurt supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Burghsluis S.C.'s performance. The match ended with a win for Burghsluis S.C..
