Damien Vonk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Leendert Schenkhuizen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martijn Pluym could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Leendert Schenkhuizen made a huge save. After 9 minutes, Luc Snoeks mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NEUSHOORN CITY and the Roordahuizum players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luc Snoeks hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Harold Telkamp during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in NEUSHOORN CITY fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! An unexpectedly hard shot by Damien Vonk in the 16th minute of play forced NEUSHOORN CITY's goalkeeper Leendert Schenkhuizen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Izaak van Gessel charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Izaak van Gessel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Martijn Pluym sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 25th match minute, NEUSHOORN CITY was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Izaak van Gessel to maneuver through the defense. Martijn Pluym received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Leendert Schenkhuizen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damien Vonk in the 29th minute of play forced NEUSHOORN CITY's goalkeeper Leendert Schenkhuizen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leendert Schenkhuizen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damien Vonk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 37 minutes, Damien Vonk managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Roordahuizum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damien Vonk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, NEUSHOORN CITY's goalkeeper Leendert Schenkhuizen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Damien Vonk. In the 41st minute, Damien Vonk got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Frits de Bruin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Twan Kruijs to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Damien Vonk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roordahuizum's supporters rose to their feet, but Damien Vonk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leendert Schenkhuizen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 53rd minute, Martijn Pluym got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Martijn Pluym blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leendert Schenkhuizen having to make a save. After 57 minutes of play NEUSHOORN CITY's Luc Snoeks was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Leendert Schenkhuizen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martijn Pluym in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind NEUSHOORN CITY's goalkeeper Leendert Schenkhuizen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leendert Schenkhuizen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martijn Pluym, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. After 73 minutes of play, Roordahuizum's Damien Vonk made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leendert Schenkhuizen was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 76 played minutes NEUSHOORN CITY got a freekick which was hit by Henk van Rijswijk. Damien Vonk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Leendert Schenkhuizen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in NEUSHOORN CITY's zone, Damien Vonk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leendert Schenkhuizen came out of the goal and Damien Vonk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Martijn Pluym's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leendert Schenkhuizen was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. 91 minutes into the match, Roordahuizum's Damien Vonk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leendert Schenkhuizen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mark Eefting's late challenge caught a NEUSHOORN CITY's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mark Eefting helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute, Mark Eefting hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Martijn Pluym had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
