Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alwin de Ridder ran back to his position shaking his head. Preben Skavin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jos Wiarda in the 5th minute of play. Henk Traa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steven Wagemakers, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. If Steven Wagemakers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 15 played minutes Vinkenbroek got a freekick which was hit by Job Blom. Martien Kielstra's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Henk Traa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Noorddijk SC's Raymond Otten suffered a sore thigh after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Antoon Steelman's late challenge caught a Noorddijk SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antoon Steelman helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Noorddijk SC booed when Vinkenbroek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antoon Steelman didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jos Wiarda in the 23rd minute of play forced Noorddijk SC's goalkeeper Preben Skavin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Henk Traa managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Noorddijk SC's Martien Kielstra fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jos Wiarda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Preben Skavin having to interfere. Noorddijk SC's Steven Wagemakers got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Noorddijk SC's Preben Skavin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alwin de Ridder in the 37th minute of play. Henk Traa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Steven Wagemakers in the 39th minute of play. Preben Skavin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alwin de Ridder in the 40th minute of the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Remond Ommen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Noorddijk SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remond Ommen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henk Traa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinhard van der Weerden in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jos Wiarda was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Martien Kielstra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henk Traa was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Vinkenbroek's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reinhard van der Weerden was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. The supporters of Noorddijk SC booed when Vinkenbroek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nigel Sybering didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Nigel Sybering hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Noorddijk SC's Ed Pietersma in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vinkenbroek's goalie prevented a goal. Vinkenbroek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Noorddijk SC the free kick. Job Blom kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Henk Traa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ed Pietersma's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Noorddijk SC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
