Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jelmer Bok got the match started through his kick off. Marcus Mos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bertus Hoogsteen having to interfere. Felix Schie charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Schie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 11 played minutes Houwerzijl got a freekick which was hit by Felix Schie. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Houwerzijl's goalkeeper Coos Staal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Felix Schie hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Marcus Mos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Bertus Hoogsteen made a huge save. 22 minutes into the game, Houwerzijl's Marcus Mos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bertus Hoogsteen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 29th minute, Ruud Klooster made a precise shot to the right of Coos Staal. Houwerzijl's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. When Jelmer Bok came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Houwerzijl fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jelmer Bok couldn't finish the play. 39 minutes into the match, Houwerzijl's goal looked a bit too open when Wesley Terpstra came free, but Coos Staal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Kettingwier getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ruud Klooster hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
The wind increased when Wesley Terpstra made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Kettingwier's goal looked a bit too open when Jelmer Bok came free, but Bertus Hoogsteen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luuk Wessels charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luuk Wessels the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Kettingwier getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Luuk Wessels hit a great ball. Coos Staal made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Luuk Wessels sent off a good shot on target. In the 63rd match minute, Houwerzijl was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rick Colen to maneuver through the defense. In the 66th minute, Jelmer Bok hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcus Mos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Ruud Klooster was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 73 minutes had been played. In the 74th minute, Ruud Klooster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Houwerzijl were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Kettingwier's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fred Mol took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Jelmer Bok heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Jelmer Bok struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Bertus Hoogsteen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Houwerzijl. Jelmer Bok sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bertus Hoogsteen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Mos in the 91st minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Houwerzijl fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kettingwier had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
