Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Boukjan Blind started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the match, ado den haag's goalkeeper Gerard Roetering had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rinus Swerts. Gerard Roetering took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Zwartkruis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olaf Berg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto Roswinkel having to interfere. ado den haag's Boukjan Blind got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Otto Roswinkel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olaf Berg in the 18th minute of play. Frans Derks took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Otto Roswinkel. Otto Roswinkel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Boukjan Blind fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otto Roswinkel having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Lankum's Rinus Swerts sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gerard Roetering narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 44 minutes into the match, Rinus Swerts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gerard Roetering. ado den haag's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rinus Swerts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. A collision led to Lankum getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Fabiën Bergmeester hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alex Zwartkruis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Zwartkruis in the 54th minute of play forced ado den haag's goalkeeper Gerard Roetering to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Zwartkruis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 59 played minutes ado den haag got a freekick which was hit by Jelte Caluwé. The supporters of Lankum booed when ado den haag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frans Derks didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antoon Grasmaaijer shot a long shot in the 64th minute and a light blocked Gerard Roetering hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 3-1. Olaf Berg was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 69th minute. ado den haag's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 72nd minute, Olaf Berg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ado den haag's Gerard Roetering played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Zwartkruis in the 76th minute of play. If Boukjan Blind had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Jelte Caluwé hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute, Antoon Grasmaaijer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gerard Roetering stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rinus Swerts's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Fabiën Bergmeester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerard Roetering having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alex Zwartkruis in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gerard Roetering prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lankum's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
