Foeke Appel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerard Roetering having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bas Atsma in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gerard Roetering saved ado den haag from getting behind. The crowd rose to their feet as Bas Atsma kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gerard Roetering. That made the score 1-0 in the 43 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Bas Atsma made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olaf Berg got free with Melvin Weerman in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gerard Roetering made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bas Atsma in the 55th minute of play. Jan Hendrik Niekamp hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. A collision led to ado den haag getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Bennie Zon hit a great ball. Foeke Appel struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Gerard Roetering didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berkenwoude Excelsior. Foeke Appel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gerard Roetering read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Bas Atsma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerard Roetering having to interfere.
