Theo Smits tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The wind increased when Simon Zegeling made the kick off in the second half. Geert van Gaals short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Theo Smits to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Floris van Olst struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Theo Smits didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sappemeer FC. In the 62nd minute Simon Zegeling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henny Veen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Ally Boys's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Karsten Bogaard was slow to take the kick. During this time Sappemeer FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Karsten Bogaard almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Ally Boys's Theo Smits did a great save.
