The crowd rose to their feet as Den Haag CL's Hans-Cees Oost slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Daan Beukers. That made the score 1-0 after 10 minutes of play. If Pim Rinzema had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeffrey Wander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Robert-Jan de Vos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeffrey Wander ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Wanroij Excelsior booed when Den Haag CL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koos Zuid didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Pieter-Jan Lute sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Den Haag CL's Jordy Schaars didn't even have to move. Pim Rinzema sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Hans-Cees Oost came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Den Haag CL fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hans-Cees Oost couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jeffrey Wander made the kick off in the second half. The referee gave Wanroij Excelsior a penalty, 53 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pieter-Jan Lute, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Den Haag CL's Jordy Schaars. 1-2. Wanroij Excelsior's Jeffrey Wander got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jordy Schaars showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey Wander in the 62nd minute of the match. When Robert-Jan de Vos came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Wanroij Excelsior fans jumped to their feet. Tomas Kostermans hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Robert-Jan de Vos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordy Schaars having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Jeffrey Wander dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jordy Schaars, 1-3. Robert-Jan de Vos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jordy Schaars having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Den Haag CL's zone, Jeffrey Wander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jordy Schaars came out of the goal and Jeffrey Wander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hans-Cees Oost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Wanroij Excelsior booed when Den Haag CL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Rinzema didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeffrey Wander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jordy Schaars having to interfere. The Den Haag CL fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Wanroij Excelsior were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
