Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ab Ottenhof kicked off to start the match. If Martin Zuidema had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robert-Jan de Vos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Arnold Woering tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeffrey Wander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeffrey Wander in the 18th minute of play forced Vlerken HC's goalkeeper Arnold Woering to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeffrey Wander was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 22nd minute. Wanroij Excelsior's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a defensive mix-up in Wanroij Excelsior's zone, Martin Zuidema stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daan Beukers came out of the goal and Martin Zuidema tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pieter Tuhuteru's late challenge caught a Vlerken HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pieter Tuhuteru helped the player get up and apologised. In the 26th minute, Pieter Tuhuteru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vlerken HC's Martin Zuidema got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 33 minutes, Folkert Oost mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vlerken HC and the Wanroij Excelsior players grew even worse after the yellow card. Folkert Oost kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Arnold Woering made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robert-Jan de Vos in the 36th minute. Martin Zuidema charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martin Zuidema the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeffrey Wander in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnold Woering saved Vlerken HC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Zuidema in the 42nd minute of play forced Wanroij Excelsior's goalkeeper Daan Beukers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Vlerken HC booed when Wanroij Excelsior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ted de Putter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ab Ottenhof might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daan Beukers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ab Ottenhof ran back to his position shaking his head. Wanroij Excelsior's Daan Beukers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Zuidema in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jeffrey Wander made a kick off. Robert-Jan de Vos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Arnold Woering tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeffrey Wander struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Arnold Woering didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wanroij Excelsior. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeffrey Wander in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnold Woering prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Jeffrey Wander came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Wanroij Excelsior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeffrey Wander couldn't finish the play. Daan Beukers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ab Ottenhof in the 69th minute of play. Arnold Woering showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey Wander in the 78th minute of the match. Ab Ottenhof received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Daan Beukers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Vlerken HC booed when Wanroij Excelsior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ted de Putter didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 93 played minutes Vlerken HC got a freekick which was hit by Gijsbert Iepstra. In the 96th minute, Martin Zuidema got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Wanroij Excelsior players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
