Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Richard Korfs made the kick off which started today's match. 5 minutes into the game, Wilfred Nijhof was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Wv Noord's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mantgum the free kick. The supporters of Mantgum booed when FC Wv Noord was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilfred Nijhof didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antoon Hindriks scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eric Boekholt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wv Noord's goalkeeper Eric Boekholt, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sipke Deuring struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Lucas Blank didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Wv Noord. FC Wv Noord's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antoon Hindriks was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 28th match minute, Mantgum was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Youri Hulzebos to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Blank took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Korfs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Gijs Bosstraeten came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Mantgum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijs Bosstraeten couldn't finish the play. Eric Boekholt was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Brain van Asten showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 38 minute of play. Youri Hulzebos hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. If Richard Korfs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antoon Hindriks was the one to do the kick off. FC Wv Noord's Eric Boekholt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antoon Hindriks in the 83rd minute of play. Antoon Hindriks's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eric Boekholt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Antoon Hindriks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mantgum had played much better football throughout.
