Taco Diggele sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Basserveld HC's Carlo Zoethout got a free kick in the 9th minute. Peter Landzaat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Stijn Huisman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jacob de Bruin got free with Stefan Aalders in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Basserveld HC's Stijn Huisman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Taco Diggele in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taco Diggele in the 25th minute of play forced Basserveld HC's goalkeeper Stijn Huisman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Taco Diggele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stijn Huisman having to interfere. A collision led to Basserveld HC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Marc Grasmaaijer hit a great ball. After having played for 36 minutes, Jacob de Bruin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Basserveld HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacob de Bruin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Peter Landzaat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stijn Huisman having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Peter Landzaat left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Flop fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Rolf Berendt fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Basserveld HC's protests and gave Rolf Berendt a yellow card for diving instead. Taco Diggele received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Stijn Huisman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 48 minutes into the match, Peter Landzaat notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Basserveld HC's Stijn Huisman. Stijn Huisman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rolf Berendt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rolf Berendt in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stefan Aalders saved FC Flop from getting behind. Rolf Berendt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Stefan Aalders tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerwin Vroom hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After 62 played minutes FC Flop got a freekick which was hit by Jurjen Apotheker. In the 62nd minute, Otto de Graaf sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and FC Flop's Stefan Aalders didn't even have to move. Peter Landzaat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stijn Huisman having to interfere. Stijn Huisman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Taco Diggele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolf Berendt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Landzaat couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the match, Basserveld HC's goal looked a bit too open when Gerwin Vroom came free, but Stijn Huisman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stijn Huisman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Landzaat in the 77th minute. After 78 played minutes Basserveld HC got a freekick which was hit by Marc Grasmaaijer. Taco Diggele received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Stijn Huisman came out and tried to block the shot, but Taco Diggele slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 79th minute. Bertus Gulpen lost his temper 83 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Flop! In the 94th minute Rolf Berendt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Aalders saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 95th match minute, FC Flop was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jurgen Pluijm to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Basserveld HC's Otto de Graaf got a free kick in the 97th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Flop eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
