The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giovanni Baars helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd match minute, St. Stefanie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovanni Baars to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Marc Kramer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Midwolde Eendracht's supporters rose to their feet, but Marc Kramer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freek de Zeeuw breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Marc Kramer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Freek de Zeeuw was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. St. Stefanie's Freek de Zeeuw played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henk Decheiver in the 11th minute of play. Freek de Zeeuw took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Baars, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 played minutes St. Stefanie got a freekick which was hit by Rudi van Dalen. Felix Smeekes succeeded in the game's 17th minute to get real power on a long shot . St. Stefanie's Freek de Zeeuw hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-1! Freek de Zeeuw made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Baars in the 20th minute of play. In the 26th minute Harry Baars shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freek de Zeeuw saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rudi van Dalen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Giovanni Baars made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Harry Baars got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marc Kramer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Freek de Zeeuw tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 67 minutes into the match, St. Stefanie's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Kramer came free, but Freek de Zeeuw reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
