In the 4th minute, Bennie Visscher made a precise shot to the right of Kristof Lange. Tekkop HC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Cardinaal got free with Demy Rodenboog in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kristof Lange took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bennie Visscher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henry Kamps fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demy Rodenboog having to interfere. Henry Kamps sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rein Tinselboer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bennie Visscher in the 40th minute of play forced Tekkop HC's goalkeeper Kristof Lange to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, IJmuiden's Rein Tinselboer got a free kick in the 44th minute. After 47 minutes IJmuiden's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jordy de Groot who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Tekkop HC's Jordy de Groot to fire away a dangerous shot which Demy Rodenboog despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Henry Kamps stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bennie Visscher could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Kristof Lange made a huge save. Nico Klasen charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nico Klasen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kristof Lange was out of position in the 60 minute of play, and Twan Venema capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Twan Venema really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. Kristof Lange made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacco Klerk in the 64th minute of play. Kristof Lange made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Bennie Visscher sent off a good shot on target. Bennie Visscher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Kristof Lange tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bart Kinear hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Henry Kamps's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Demy Rodenboog was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Bennie Visscher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Domenik Roorda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kristof Lange having to make a save. When Jonathan Cardinaal came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Tekkop HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Cardinaal couldn't finish the play. After 94 played minutes, Tekkop HC's Jordy de Groot shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Demy Rodenboog came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tekkop HC reached it. Jonathan Cardinaal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Demy Rodenboog tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched IJmuiden eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
