But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nick Wiggers couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elmar Berendt in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hans-Cees de Boer saved Mispeleind S.V. from getting behind. In the 10th minute Emiel Klaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hans-Cees de Boer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nick Wiggers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Bas Franssen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nick Wiggers kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Mispeleind S.V.'s Nick Wiggers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bas Franssen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nick Wiggers was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 38th minute. Mispeleind S.V.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Nick Wiggers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bas Franssen. That made the score 1-0 in the 42 minute of play. In the 48th minute Nick Wiggers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bas Franssen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nick Wiggers was the one to do the kick off. Emiel Klaus's late challenge caught a Mispeleind S.V.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emiel Klaus helped the player get up and apologised. After 54 played minutes Straat SC got a freekick which was hit by Emiel Klaus. Elmar Berendt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Mispeleind S.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Frans van Rijswijk was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 70 minutes into the match, Mispeleind S.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Elmar Berendt came free, but Hans-Cees de Boer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Nick Wiggers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mispeleind S.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Nick Wiggers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bas Franssen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Frans van Rijswijk's late challenge caught a Straat SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Straat SC's goalkeeper Bas Franssen, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Mispeleind S.V. booed when Straat SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerald Huizen didn't get a good kick on the ball.
