Arjen Ewald could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Ton Kiewit made a huge save. Bram van der Schans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Heijningen's zone, Arjen Ewald stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ton Kiewit came out of the goal and Arjen Ewald tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes into the game, Weerdinge HC's Arjen Ewald nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ton Kiewit made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Bram van der Schans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 45th minute by Arjen Ewald got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Arjen Ewald's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ton Kiewit firmly grabbed it by the left post. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marco van Westerop to make the kick off. Bram van der Schans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Roger Bont charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roger Bont the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 54th match minute, Weerdinge HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roger Bont to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Heijningen getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Timmie Jaliens hit a great ball. Maarten van Rooijen was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arjen Ewald in the 65th minute of play forced Heijningen's goalkeeper Ton Kiewit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jelte Fuchs kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Arjen Ewald put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ton Kiewit. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arjen Ewald in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ton Kiewit prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Arjen Ewald had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bram van der Schans might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ton Kiewit. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bram van der Schans ran back to his position shaking his head. Heijningen's Ton Kiewit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bram van der Schans in the 80th minute of play. Bram van der Schans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ton Kiewit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute Bram van der Schans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ton Kiewit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Weerdinge HC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
