The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute Geale Schipper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maarten Planting saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carel van der Woude in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andreas Fleur prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 10 played minutes Broekerhaven got a freekick which was hit by Jelle Driel. Elmar Tieleman struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Maarten Planting didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Broekerhaven. A collision led to Westbeemster getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Ryan Vonk hit a great ball. After 25 played minutes Westbeemster got a freekick which was hit by Carel van der Woude. If Elmar Tieleman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Westbeemster's Maarten Planting played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geale Schipper in the 29th minute of play. Elmar Tielemans short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Maarten Planting to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Carel van der Woude had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Carel van der Woude managed to get in a good position for a shot. Westbeemster's supporters rose to their feet, but Carel van der Woude was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Fleur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Broekerhaven's Geale Schipper slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Maarten Planting. That made the score 1-0 after 40 minutes of play. After 43 played minutes Broekerhaven got a freekick which was hit by Jelle Driel. In the 46th minute, Jan-Joost Ensing hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Geale Schipper made the kick off in the second half. If Elmar Tieleman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute, Geale Schipper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Broekerhaven's Geale Schipper pulled a muscle in his leg after 60 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Edward Boersma charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edward Boersma the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 59 minutes into the game, one of Westbeemster:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Elmar Tieleman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Elmar Tieleman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rogier Rogaars during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
