With a little luck, Westbeemster's Maarten Planting got control of the ball when Izaak Mülder tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harm Prinsen in the 5th minute of play forced Sibenlo HC's goalkeeper Tommie Hoezen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Maarten Planting made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Izaak Mülder in the 7th minute of play. Tommie Hoezen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harm Prinsen in the 22nd minute of play. After 28 played minutes Sibenlo HC got a freekick which was hit by Roland Been. An unexpectedly hard shot by Izaak Mülder in the 34th minute of play forced Westbeemster's goalkeeper Maarten Planting to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harm Prinsen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommie Hoezen having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Sibenlo HC's zone, Carel van der Woude stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommie Hoezen came out of the goal and Carel van der Woude tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A hard shot 43 in the game by Sjors Genkenaar from a close distance when the talented Maarten Planting managed to make a qualified save. Westbeemster's players were relieved. After some careless play in the Sibenlo HC defense, Harm Prinsen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommie Hoezen. The Sibenlo HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommie Hoezen should have stopped the shot. Tommie Hoezen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carel van der Woude, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When Mirko Kruiswijk fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westbeemster's protests and gave Mirko Kruiswijk a yellow card for diving instead. Mirko Kruiswijk kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Izaak Mülder might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maarten Planting. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Izaak Mülder ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 60th minute, Melvin Dongen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 66 minutes into the match, Westbeemster's goal looked a bit too open when Ed de Groot came free, but Maarten Planting reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 minutes of play Westbeemster's Mirko Kruiswijk was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Westbeemster's Maarten Planting played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Izaak Mülder in the 86th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Izaak Mülder left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sibenlo HC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Sjors Genkenaar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maarten Planting having to interfere. Sibenlo HC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
