The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mart Bust took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daan Castelen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sipke Robben kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Daan Castelen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mart Bust saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mart Bust showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wessel Bette in the 14th minute of the match. If Gerard Borg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gerard Borg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gert Klasen kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Gerard Borg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Jaap Ginneken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daan Castelen might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mart Bust. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daan Castelen ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd minute Wessel Bette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mart Bust saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mart Bust showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daan Castelen, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. If Daan Castelen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daan Castelen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wessel Bette recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, VanRud V.'s Mart Bust got control of the ball when Wessel Bette tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 63rd minute Gerard Borg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaap Ginneken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VanRud V.'s Gerard Borg got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Dronrijp S.V. booed when VanRud V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wim Sandbergen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 75 minutes of play, VanRud V.'s Gerard Borg made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. With his leg Mart Bust managed to avoid a goal in the 85thth minute, when Dronrijp S.V.'s Wessel Bette fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, VanRud V.'s Bram Rinzema got a free kick in the 88th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Dronrijp S.V.'s Eelco Lensen tried to score from far away in the 89th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Daan Castelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Dronrijp S.V. booed when VanRud V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teo Harms didn't get a good kick on the ball.
