After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Robert-Jan Schiphouwer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Willem2's supporters rose to their feet, but Robert-Jan Schiphouwer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric Kramer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 5 minutes into the game, Alfred Jaliens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sijtaart RKSV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Willem2 the free kick. Karel den Engelsman kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Karel den Engelsman struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Edmondo Battisti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sijtaart RKSV. Karel den Engelsman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gert Degens during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Willem2 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gert Degens to maneuver through the defense. Edmondo Battisti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Jaliens, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Danny Brinks to strike the kick off in the second half. Danny Brinks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Eric Kramer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Danny Brinks recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 63 minutes into the match, Karel den Engelsman dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Edmondo Battisti, 1-1. When Willem2's Danny Brinks in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sijtaart RKSV's goalie prevented a goal. Karel den Engelsman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmondo Battisti having to interfere. After some careless play in the Sijtaart RKSV defense, Danny Brinks kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eric Kramer. The Sijtaart RKSV fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eric Kramer should have stopped the shot. Edmondo Battisti made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Griemink in the 84th minute. Oscar Griemink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Philip Pals hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 93rd minute, Oscar Griemink got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Willem2's Danny Brinks got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Alfred Jaliens was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 95 minutes had been played. Alfred Jaliens hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Willem2 fully deserved thier win.
