An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Griemink in the 30th minute of play forced Markluiden's goalkeeper Franck Klasens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Franck Klasens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Griemink in the 32nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Markluiden defense, Karel den Engelsman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Franck Klasens. The Markluiden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Franck Klasens should have stopped the shot. After 43 played minutes Markluiden got a freekick which was hit by Frank van Duuren. In the 44th minute of the match Wilco Eggens shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Franck Klasens showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Franck Klasens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karel den Engelsman's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Karel den Engelsman made the kick off in the second half. Franck Klasens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karel den Engelsman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Markluiden's Julius Gerrits in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Julius Gerrits managed to get in a good position for a shot. Markluiden's supporters rose to their feet, but Julius Gerrits was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric Kramer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roelof van Zelst hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After 75 played minutes, Markluiden's Frank van Duuren shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eric Kramer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Markluiden reached it. When the match was over Sijtaart RKSV could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Markluiden throughout the match.
