Donny Zijden struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Klaus Bont didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Oosterwijk FC. Klaus Bont showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donny Zijden in the 9th minute of the match. Oosterwijk FC's Frits Veentjer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sipke Wilson in the 14th minute of play. If Donny Zijden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benjamin de Visscher in the 21st minute of play forced Mariadorp FC's goalkeeper Klaus Bont to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match Dirk Jan Meinders sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frits Veentjer skillfully saved the ball. Oosterwijk FC's Frits Veentjer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Oosterwijk FC from getting a goal against them. Klaus Bont took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donny Zijden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 37 minutes, Donny Zijden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oosterwijk FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donny Zijden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vincent Eefting hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elbert Helwig got free with Frits Veentjer in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Donny Zijden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donny Zijden stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Oosterwijk FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Wim Blaauwgeers hit a great ball. After 56 minutes Oosterwijk FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dirk Jan Meinders who took care of the corner kick. 60 minutes into the match, Mariadorp FC's goal looked a bit too open when Donny Zijden came free, but Klaus Bont reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71stth minute of the game Donny Zijden who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mariadorp FC's Klaus Bont was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Donny Zijden came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Oosterwijk FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donny Zijden couldn't finish the play. When Sjoerd Wilbrink fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mariadorp FC's protests and gave Sjoerd Wilbrink a yellow card for diving instead. Sjoerd Wilbrink hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Klaus Bont came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Oosterwijk FC's Donny Zijden. But to his dismay, Donny Zijden quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Donny Zijden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benjamin de Visscher struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Benjamin de Visscher might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Klaus Bont. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benjamin de Visscher ran back to his position shaking his head. Oosterwijk FC played a much better game than Mariadorp FC and deserved their victory. The Mariadorp FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
