Ivo Stuijvenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marick de Boer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Maarten Stroeve made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chiel Wijnands in the 12th minute. Hellegom V.V.'s Maarten Stroeve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathieu de Bruin in the 15th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Co Oevermans during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 16th minute of the game. One of Hellegom V.V.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Brouwhuis V.V.:s goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gerrit Waldijk during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 22 played minutes Brouwhuis V.V. got a freekick which was hit by Gerrit Waldijk. Roger Bernard blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivo Stuijvenberg having to make a save. Mathieu de Bruin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 31 minutes into the match, Brouwhuis V.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Roger Bernard came free, but Ivo Stuijvenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maarten Stroeve showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathieu de Bruin in the 36th minute of the match. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mathieu de Bruin to strike the kick off in the second half. 59 minutes into the match, Marick de Boer notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Brouwhuis V.V.'s Ivo Stuijvenberg. Ivo Stuijvenberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
