Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) 6 minutes into the match, Hempens's goal looked a bit too open when Mathieu Maasland came free, but Lennart Zeeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jordi Stout sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Hempens's Jouke Lyesen got a free kick in the 21st minute. A hard shot by Jan Hendrik Klinkhamer from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Lennart Zeeman's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 25 played minutes FC Breda got a freekick which was hit by Pepijn Rutgers. Hempens's Jordi Stout got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dolf Lever took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jordi Stout, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Breda's Jan Compaan got a free kick in the 30th minute. Dolf Lever made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jordi Stout in the 31st minute of play. Gido Dagelet took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dolf Lever. Dolf Lever dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 37 minutes, Damien Mueller mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hempens and the FC Breda players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jan Hendrik Klinkhamer shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Hempens booed when FC Breda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jan Compaan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gido Dagelet received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Dolf Lever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gido Dagelet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Gido Dagelet got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Meindert Borst managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hempens's supporters rose to their feet, but Meindert Borst was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dolf Lever breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FC Breda's Dolf Lever played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gido Dagelet in the 88th minute of play.
