Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Anton Tollenaar started the match with the kick off. Mathieu Maasland scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wessel Witting, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Neerdorp defense, Jack Atsma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wessel Witting. The Neerdorp fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wessel Witting should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Neerdorp's zone, Mathieu Maasland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wessel Witting came out of the goal and Mathieu Maasland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mathieu Maasland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Wessel Witting tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Tollenaar's late challenge caught a FC Breda's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anton Tollenaar helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Neerdorp getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Anton Tollenaar hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the game, Kurt Nieuwendijk was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neerdorp's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Breda the free kick. In the 30th minute, Kurt Nieuwendijk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Wessel Witting showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathieu Maasland, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. René Clarijs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Dolf Lever tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anton Tollenaar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolf Lever having to interfere. If Kurt Nieuwendijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mathieu Maasland stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match, Mathieu Maasland tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Wessel Witting saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 61 played minutes Neerdorp got a freekick which was hit by Ferdinant Dijken. In the 62nd minute of the match Jan Hendrik Klinkhamer shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wessel Witting showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 67th minute Mathieu Maasland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wessel Witting saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jack Atsma could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Wessel Witting made a huge save. Kurt Nieuwendijk kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Wessel Witting made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mathieu Maasland in the 78th minute of play. The supporters of FC Breda booed when Neerdorp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Nieuwendijk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jack Atsma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Wessel Witting tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Neerdorp's Kurt Nieuwendijk got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kurt Nieuwendijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 89th minute Mathieu Maasland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wessel Witting saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jack Atsma recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wessel Witting showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathieu Maasland in the 93rd minute of the match. If Kurt Nieuwendijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kurt Nieuwendijk was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The Neerdorp manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing FC Breda to win.
