In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Oosterhuizen HC's goalkeeper Arie Valx, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ger Gerrits was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Stroeve got free with Arie Valx in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arie Valx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arjan Langenbach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alwin Hateboer's late challenge caught a Netersel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alwin Hateboer helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Edward Stroeve managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netersel's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Stroeve was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arie Valx breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
