Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Harald van Halst started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Vlotbrug Excelsior's Jaap Ooijer got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simon Driel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Marick Palsma in the 15th minute really tested Robert Hauvers's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Simon Driel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vleuten HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Simon Driel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robert Hauvers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harald van Halst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Hauvers having to interfere. Simon Driel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Robert Hauvers made a huge save. Robert Hauvers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harald van Halst's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Harald van Halst fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Hauvers having to interfere. Sjef Brouwer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaap Ooijer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Ferry Niekamp made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ferry Niekamp in the 53rd minute of play forced Vleuten HC's goalkeeper Sjef Brouwer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaap Ooijer got free with Sjef Brouwer in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferry Niekamp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Robert Hauvers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harald van Halst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harald van Halst took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Robert Hauvers. Robert Hauvers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Sjef Brouwer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferry Niekamp in the 78th minute of the match. Jaap Ooijer recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hub Erenstein's late challenge caught a Vleuten HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hub Erenstein helped the player get up and apologised.
