Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Pim Lindeman kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes in the game, Ferry Niekamp fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mart Dissels having to interfere. John Boschker recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ferry Niekamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mart Dissels having to interfere. Theo Oorthuis kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Vlotbrug Excelsior's Robert Hauvers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Boschker in the 13th minute of play. Mart Dissels showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferry Niekamp in the 23rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Jaap Ooijer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vlotbrug Excelsior's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaap Ooijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mart Dissels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th minute, Ferry Niekamp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaap Ooijer might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mart Dissels. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaap Ooijer ran back to his position shaking his head. Bas Kok kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Mart Dissels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferry Niekamp, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. If John Boschker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Jaap Ooijer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vlotbrug Excelsior's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaap Ooijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mart Dissels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mart Dissels made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Jaap Ooijer sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Liefkenshoek V.V.'s Mart Dissels got control of the ball when Jaap Ooijer tried to sneak it across the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ferry Niekamp to strike the kick off in the second half. When John Boschker came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Liefkenshoek V.V. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John Boschker couldn't finish the play. Pim Lindeman struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Robert Hauvers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liefkenshoek V.V.. John Boschker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mart Dissels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaap Ooijer in the 67th minute of play. In the 72nd match minute, Liefkenshoek V.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dimitrie Stuijvenberg to maneuver through the defense. Richard Hoogsteen kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, John Boschker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liefkenshoek V.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but John Boschker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pim Lindeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Robert Hauvers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vlotbrug Excelsior's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
