Molenvliet's Freek Bas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Koen Kroon in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to Overakker getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Gerrit Haremeijer hit a great ball. Otto Halen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlo Klasens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Otto Halen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Talsma, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute, Gert Owusu Abeyie made a precise shot to the right of Otto Halen. Overakker's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Molenvliet's Freek Bas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Oosterbaan in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert Owusu Abeyie in the 32nd minute of play forced Overakker's goalkeeper Otto Halen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Emil Oosterbaan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otto Halen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert Talsma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Otto Halen made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Gert Owusu Abeyie sent off a good shot on target. In a very dangerous position, a player in Overakker fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! Otto Halen went to the wrong direction when Bart Nijhof was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Robert van Zonderen kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Otto Halen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gert Owusu Abeyie in the 62nd minute. After some careless play in the Overakker defense, Gert Talsma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Otto Halen. The Overakker fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Otto Halen should have stopped the shot. Otto Halen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlo Klasens, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. 70 minutes into the game, Koen Kroon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Overakker's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Molenvliet the free kick. After a rather tough play, Overakker's Koen Kroon got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute, Rein Oosterhof got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute, Ferry Spannenburg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Molenvliet getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Felix Otten hit a great ball. When Emil Oosterbaan came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Overakker fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emil Oosterbaan couldn't finish the play. Overakker's Timo van Assen got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emil Oosterbaan struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Freek Bas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Overakker. In the 97th minute Koen Kroon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Freek Bas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Molenvliet's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
