In the 17th minute, Firdgum FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ruud Kromkamp fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Oostkapelle FC's Maarten van der Wiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Sneijder in the 19th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Stijn Pool's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jens Hartogh was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Gert Siepel kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Ruud Kromkamp struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Jens Hartogh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Oostkapelle FC's Dennis Hoogsteen couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 30th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Firdgum FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Ronald Maas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Firdgum FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronald Maas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maarten van der Wiel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jens Hartogh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stijn Pool in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Ruud Kromkamp fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jens Hartogh, passed just outside the right post. Stijn Pool fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Hartogh having to interfere. Oostkapelle FC's Ruud Kromkamp got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, Firdgum FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stijn Pool came free, but Jens Hartogh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alex Sneijder to strike the kick off in the second half. Jens Hartogh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruud Kromkamp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Firdgum FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Gert Siepel hit a great ball. Joop van Dijk hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. 65 minutes into the match, Firdgum FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stijn Pool came free, but Jens Hartogh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Oostkapelle FC booed when Firdgum FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Siepel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stijn Pool hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After a good free kick, Stijn Pool got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Firdgum FC. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ronald Maas got free with Maarten van der Wiel in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 77 played minutes Oostkapelle FC got a freekick which was hit by Billy Wielens. Jens Hartogh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stijn Pool, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Oostkapelle FC's Maarten van der Wiel got control of the ball when Ronald Maas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Maarten van der Wiel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronald Maas in the 87th minute. After 89 minutes, Jochem Brugmans mouthed his way into the referee's book.
