The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. rkvv haelen's Teo Zandstra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jan Rein Heerspink in the 9th minute of play. If Demy Matthijs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Barry Niemeyer fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Electra HC's protests and gave Barry Niemeyer a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of rkvv haelen booed when Electra HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barry Niemeyer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 21st minute Demy Matthijs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Joost Klijnstra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan-Peter Koekkoek took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teo Zandstra. rkvv haelen's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Koos Blanc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute Jan Rein Heerspink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teo Zandstra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Koos Blanc received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Teo Zandstra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Electra HC's zone, Demy Matthijs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Joost Klijnstra came out of the goal and Demy Matthijs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jan Rein Heerspink stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match Yorrick Gentenaar sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Teo Zandstra skillfully saved the ball. In the 54th match minute, Electra HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johan Dissels to maneuver through the defense. Teo Roeters charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Teo Roeters the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 56 played minutes rkvv haelen got a freekick which was hit by Teo Roeters. After 61 played minutes rkvv haelen got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Kuypers. Teo Zandstra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Koos Blanc, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. rkvv haelen's Demy Matthijs came free and shot a quick shot against goal 69 minutes in the game, fortunately Jan-Joost Klijnstra had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Demy Matthijs might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jan-Joost Klijnstra. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Demy Matthijs ran back to his position shaking his head. In a very dangerous position, a player in rkvv haelen fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty! Martien Bakker shot the penalty kick right outside the post. If Koos Blanc had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
