Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Thijs van Dessel got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Rijen's Thijs van Dessel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Youri Siemers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thijs van Dessel in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Youri Siemers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florian Iepstra got free with Youri Siemers in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 11thth minute of the game Richard Castelen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rijen's Carlo van Zalen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Leendert van Alst's late challenge caught a Rijen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leendert van Alst helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rijen booed when K.S. BŁĘKITNI JERZMANOWO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leendert van Alst didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gert Jan Koops received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Carlo van Zalen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roeland Waldijk charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roeland Waldijk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 19 played minutes Rijen got a freekick which was hit by Roeland Waldijk. In the 20th minute Gert Jan Koops shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlo van Zalen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th match minute, Rijen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roeland Waldijk to maneuver through the defense. After 22 played minutes Rijen got a freekick which was hit by Lennart Iemberge. Gert Jan Koops fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlo van Zalen having to interfere. Thijs van Dessel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Youri Siemers having to make a save. If Florian Iepstra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 39 minutes into the match, Rijen's Thijs van Dessel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Youri Siemers narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rijen's Florian Iepstra got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Florian Iepstra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Youri Siemers when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
A collision led to Rijen getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Sven Teuws hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Rijen's Elroy Strobos got a free kick in the 60th minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Thijs van Dessel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rijen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thijs van Dessel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florian Iepstra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Youri Siemers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thijs van Dessel in the 68th minute of the match. Richard Castelen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlo van Zalen having to interfere. The supporters of K.S. BŁĘKITNI JERZMANOWO booed when Rijen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roeland Waldijk didn't get a good kick on the ball.
