Driehuizen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Boterveen the free kick. The supporters of Boterveen booed when Driehuizen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerjan Roewen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierre van Persie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbie Compaan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th match minute, Driehuizen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerjan Roewen to maneuver through the defense. Stephan Grasmaaijer kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Driehuizen's Pierre van Persie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thijs Roeles in the 23rd minute of play. Mathias Polak made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 24thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Allard Ricksen would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 29th match minute, Driehuizen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cor Velthuis to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the match, Driehuizen's goal looked a bit too open when Robbie Compaan came free, but Pierre van Persie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Robbie Compaan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thijs Roeles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pierre van Persie having to interfere. Remco Vos kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Thijs Roeles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boterveen's supporters rose to their feet, but Thijs Roeles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre van Persie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robbie Bunt charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robbie Bunt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Robbie Bunt kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Driehuizen's goal looked a bit too open when Robbie Compaan came free, but Pierre van Persie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Robbie Compaan scored 0-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pierre van Persie, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luuk Zijden during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Robbie Compaan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Driehuizen fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Boterveen were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
