Harmen Oosting received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Stephan Schild tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Jeffrey van der Aa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Stephan Schild was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Heefveld's Stephan Schild played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeffrey van der Aa in the 9th minute of play. If Jeffrey van der Aa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harmen Oosting in the 20th minute of play forced Heefveld's goalkeeper Stephan Schild to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferdi Schmidt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gooitzen van Aalderen in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match Steven Carels sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ferdi Schmidt skillfully saved the ball. When Jeffrey van der Aa came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Loppersum HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeffrey van der Aa couldn't finish the play. Ab Gerseke kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ab Gerseke in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ferdi Schmidt saved Loppersum HC from getting behind. Gooitzen van Aalderen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Loppersum HC's Ferdi Schmidt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Loppersum HC from getting a goal against them.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jeffrey van der Aa to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Steven Carels hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harmen Oosting fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stephan Schild having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Loppersum HC's Henk Zilverberg got a free kick in the 55th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Niels-Jan Rijkaard notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Loppersum HC's Ferdi Schmidt. Ferdi Schmidt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Gooitzen van Aalderen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Loppersum HC got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Schutrups. Gooitzen van Aalderen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ferdi Schmidt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Stephan Schild showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffrey van der Aa in the 70th minute of the match. The supporters of Loppersum HC booed when Heefveld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ab Gerseke didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jeffrey van der Aa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeffrey van der Aa might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stephan Schild. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeffrey van der Aa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 77thth minute of the game Jeffrey van der Aa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Heefveld's Stephan Schild was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antoon Ottenhof charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antoon Ottenhof the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th minute, Antoon Ottenhof hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
