The supporters of Bedum FC booed when Deuteren HC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antoon Savenije didn't get a good kick on the ball. Koos Luijten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bart Ostermann having to interfere. The Bedum FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Deuteren HC were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when René Teuws made the kick off in the second half. If Egbert Westerink had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Ben Meyer was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 84th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. René Teuws fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Steelman having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Deuteren HC's goal looked a bit too open when René Teuws came free, but Gilbert Steelman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jef van Boxel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Steelman having to interfere. After 93 played minutes Bedum FC got a freekick which was hit by Egbert Westerink. After a good free kick, Egbert Westerink got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Deuteren HC. If René Teuws had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Deuteren HC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
