Dick Ooijer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Deuteren HC's Floris Collins got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Koos Luijten struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Jan-Willem van der Schaaf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deuteren HC. After a defensive mix-up in Deuteren HC's zone, Dick Ooijer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Steelman came out of the goal and Dick Ooijer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 21 minutes into the game, Floris Collins recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jan-Willem van der Schaaf. Floris Collins showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Deuteren HC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Molengat:s goal. If Jacques Steyns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacques Steyns in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilbert Steelman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Floris Collins came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Deuteren HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Floris Collins couldn't finish the play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacques Steyns was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Koos Luijten in the 51st minute of play forced Molengat's goalkeeper Jan-Willem van der Schaaf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 57 played minutes Molengat got a freekick which was hit by Serge Baptist. In the 58th minute, Nathan Hoving sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Molengat's Jan-Willem van der Schaaf didn't even have to move. 60 minutes into the match, Floris Collins notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Molengat's Jan-Willem van der Schaaf. Jan-Willem van der Schaaf was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 63rd minute, Boukjan Vervoort hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Floris Collins in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jan-Willem van der Schaaf prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Molengat's Boukjan Vervoort got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute of the match Nathan Hoving sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jan-Willem van der Schaaf skillfully saved the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Deuteren HC's Koos Luijten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jan-Willem van der Schaaf narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 74th minute, Jacques Steyns got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 75 minutes into the game, Antoon Savenije was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deuteren HC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Molengat the free kick. After 75 played minutes Deuteren HC got a freekick which was hit by Antoon Savenije. Jacques Steyns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the game, Deuteren HC's Koos Luijten nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jan-Willem van der Schaaf made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Deuteren HC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Molengat for a fine match.
