Marinus Heijen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Mathieu Oosterhof tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerrit Klasen in the 5th minute of play forced Hommerts HC's goalkeeper Koen Drok to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Hommerts HC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Edwin Bruinsma hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robbie Coopman in the 10th minute of play forced Hommerts HC's goalkeeper Koen Drok to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Robbie Coopman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Koen Drok was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. 24 minutes in the game, Marinus Heijen fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Mathieu Oosterhof having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Matsloot FC's Werner Spannenburg got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 32 played minutes Matsloot FC got a freekick which was hit by Kees Saarberg. Cobus Jongsma was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. Hommerts HC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Mathieu Oosterhof showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cobus Jongsma in the 35th minute of the match. Koen Drok took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Werner Spannenburg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gerrit Klasen might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Koen Drok. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerrit Klasen ran back to his position shaking his head. 48 minutes into the match, Hommerts HC's goal looked a bit too open when Robbie Coopman came free, but Koen Drok reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robbie Coopman made a kick off. Mathieu Oosterhof showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cobus Jongsma, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. If Marinus Heijen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Cobus Jongsma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mathieu Oosterhof saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 68th minute, Marinus Heijen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 69th minute, Marcel Lucius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerrit Klasen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Koen Drok having to interfere. Gerrit Klasen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Koen Drok when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacques Karremans during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Kees Saarberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Koen Drok tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Robbie Coopman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robbie Coopman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Koen Drok having to make a save.
