Heiko Stuifzand fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Spanjer having to interfere. When Nico Bakhuis fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huizum S.V.'s protests and gave Nico Bakhuis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Huizum S.V. getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Nico Bakhuis hit a great ball. Heurne HC's Lucas de Jong couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 8th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Huizum S.V.. When Casper Hoeksma fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huizum S.V.'s protests and gave Casper Hoeksma a yellow card for diving instead. After 16 played minutes Huizum S.V. got a freekick which was hit by Casper Hoeksma. Victor Spanjer was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lucas de Jong. When Boukjan Klooster fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Heurne HC's protests and gave Boukjan Klooster a yellow card for diving instead. After 19 played minutes Heurne HC got a freekick which was hit by Boukjan Klooster. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Ted Schepers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huizum S.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Ted Schepers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristof Dissels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Boukjan Klooster kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Heurne HC! In the 33rd minute, Carel Schoonderwoerd got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Heurne HC's Kristof Dissels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Schepers in the 36th minute of play. If Marc van Zwieten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ted Schepers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carel Schoonderwoerd in the 42nd minute of play forced Heurne HC's goalkeeper Kristof Dissels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 46 minutes, Kurt Duinhoven mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Heurne HC and the Huizum S.V. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 46th match minute, Heurne HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kurt Duinhoven to maneuver through the defense. In the 48th minute of the match Alwin de Ruijter sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kristof Dissels skillfully saved the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carel Schoonderwoerd to make the kick off. Kristof Dissels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carel Schoonderwoerd in the 52nd minute of play. Huizum S.V.'s Victor Spanjer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heiko Stuifzand in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Heurne HC booed when Huizum S.V. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carel Schoonderwoerd didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marc van Zwieten in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victor Spanjer saved Huizum S.V. from getting behind. Victor Spanjer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marc van Zwieten in the 61st minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Huizum S.V. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Bakhuis to maneuver through the defense. It was a well-played corner which Maikel Saanen managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Carel Schoonderwoerd might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kristof Dissels. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Carel Schoonderwoerd ran back to his position shaking his head. Kristof Dissels made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ted Schepers in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute, Maikel Saanen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ted Schepers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carel Schoonderwoerd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristof Dissels having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Huizum S.V.'s Carel Schoonderwoerd sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kristof Dissels narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carel Schoonderwoerd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kristof Dissels having to interfere. Kristof Dissels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carel Schoonderwoerd, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Despite being the better team, Huizum S.V. failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
