Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Laarakkers's Herman Brugmans started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Ivo Broekema's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogier Gerrits was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. 6 minutes into the game, Henxel FC's Ivo Broekema nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogier Gerrits made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Herman Brugmans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogier Gerrits had in the 25thth minute some difficulties stopping Remond Huiting's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Bruno Ponk showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herman Brugmans in the 30th minute of the match. Hans Daamen's shot from long distance in the 32nd minute was not bad at all, but Henxel FC's Bruno Ponk knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Ivo Broekema made the kick off in the second half. Herman Brugmans blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruno Ponk having to make a save. Bruno Ponk came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Laarakkers's Jan Hendrik Seinstra. But to his dismay, Jan Hendrik Seinstra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 57th minute Ivo Broekema shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogier Gerrits saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruno Ponk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Herman Brugmans in the 60th minute of play. Remond Huiting hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Henxel FC's zone, Herman Brugmans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Ponk came out of the goal and Herman Brugmans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74th minute, Jan Hendrik Seinstra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Henxel FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Remond Huiting hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herman Brugmans in the 76th minute of play forced Henxel FC's goalkeeper Bruno Ponk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute Herman Brugmans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Ponk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jan Hendrik Seinstra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Bruno Ponk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herman Brugmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute, Ivo Broekema got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
