In the 3rd minute, Ed Bos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Stratum Excelsior getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Mark Nagel hit a great ball. Ed Bos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bjorn Decheiver blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Stefano de Boer having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ed Bos in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stefano de Boer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 15 played minutes Stratum Excelsior got a freekick which was hit by Mark Nagel. If Bjorn Decheiver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the game, Richard Blaauwgeers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hayum's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stratum Excelsior the free kick. Richard Blaauwgeers kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. When Stratum Excelsior's Ralf Mol, in the 22nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Stratum Excelsior. After 23 minutes, Karel Oortwijn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hayum and the Stratum Excelsior players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 23 played minutes Hayum got a freekick which was hit by Karel Oortwijn. In the 26th minute, Ed Bos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th minute, Hayum's Ed Bos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Stefano de Boer. Stefano de Boer yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 31 played minutes Hayum got a freekick which was hit by Jim Mook. Ralf Mol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Stratum Excelsior booed when Hayum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aad van den Akker didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeroen Jol sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ralf Mol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stratum Excelsior's Ralf Mol got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Hayum's Edgard Akkerman got a free kick in the 44th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hayum's zone, Jeroen Jol stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Giovanni Gerfen came out of the goal and Jeroen Jol tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andreas Vonk kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Ralf Mol got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
In the 54th minute, Bjorn Decheiver left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hayum fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. A hard shot 62 in the game by Jeroen Jol from a close distance when the talented Giovanni Gerfen managed to make a qualified save. Hayum's players were relieved. Stefano de Boer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ed Bos went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Bjorn Decheiver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefano de Boer having to interfere. Jeroen Jol recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Hayum's Bjorn Decheiver sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefano de Boer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Hayum booed when Stratum Excelsior was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Nagel didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Ed Bos put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Stefano de Boer. Hayum's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Jeroen Jol scored to the left of an out of position Giovanni Gerfen, making the score, 4-1. Andreas Vonk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefano de Boer having to interfere. Ralf Mol received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Giovanni Gerfen came out and tried to block the shot, but Ralf Mol slotted it home off the left post making it 4-2 in the 90th minute. Mark Nagel kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match.
