52 minutes into the match, Bram Wilminck had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mark Berg. Sterenborg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bram Wilminck was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willem van der Meijde in the 57th minute of play forced Sterenborg's goalkeeper Mark Berg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Eperheide's Maurice Waard got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 69th minute of the match Dirk-Jan Ijksma shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dirk Janssens showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Willem van der Meijde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Berg having to interfere. A collision led to Sterenborg getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Wilfred Zuid hit a great ball. In the 75th minute, Willem van der Meijde left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Eperheide fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Jan Siepel kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. If Wilfred Zuid had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Sterenborg's zone, Willem van der Meijde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mark Berg came out of the goal and Willem van der Meijde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eperheide's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
