In the 14th minute of the match Bas Boven sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Hanekamp skillfully saved the ball. Lukas Aalders's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Marco Hanekamp skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sjors Lucius in the 18th minute of play forced Slochteren's goalkeeper Rolf Windmuller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Lukas Aalders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Tinselboer hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Lukas Aalders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marco Hanekamp having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabiën Scheerhoorn in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Hanekamp saved Maarland FC from getting behind. If Lukas Aalders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lukas Aalders could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Marco Hanekamp made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabiën Scheerhoorn was the one to do the kick off. Slochteren's Rolf Windmuller proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Slochteren from getting a goal against them. Fabiën Scheerhoorn struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Marco Hanekamp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Slochteren. In the 62nd match minute, Maarland FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris de Wolf to maneuver through the defense. If Lukas Aalders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Lukas Aalders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cor Schreuder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Marco Hanekamp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Coos Lindeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Marco Hanekamp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dirk Jan Greef sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dirk Jan Greef kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match.
