Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fabiën Scheerhoorn started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Lukas Aalders was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Slochteren's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eperheide the free kick. Lukas Aalders hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Willem van der Meijdes short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Rolf Windmuller to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eperheide's goalkeeper Dirk Janssens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Willem van der Meijde received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Rolf Windmuller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Willem van der Meijde got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The Eperheide fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Eperheide's Willem van der Meijde looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Rolf Windmuller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bram Wilminck, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Dirk Janssens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabiën Scheerhoorn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Corné Akkerman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bram Wilminck to make the kick off. Slochteren were furious when Bas Boven was red carded, 52 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 51 minutes into the game, one of Slochteren:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Eperheide's Jan Siepel suffered a sore thigh after 59 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Corné Akkerman hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After 67 played minutes Slochteren got a freekick which was hit by Cor Schreuder. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Lukas Aalders managed to get in a good position for a shot. Slochteren's supporters rose to their feet, but Lukas Aalders was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dirk Janssens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute, Bram Wilminck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Willem van der Meijde struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Rolf Windmuller didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eperheide. Eperheide's Willem van der Meijde got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lukas Aalders in the 97thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dirk Janssens, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Eperheide's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
