Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Taco Aalst took the kick off in the first half of the match. Fabiën Ritsma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Taco Aalst in the 14th minute of play. Roland Aelbrecht hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Taco Aalst struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Fabiën Ritsma didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crixhoek. When Taco Aalst came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Crixhoek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Taco Aalst couldn't finish the play. In the 20th match minute, Crixhoek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theo Lamey to maneuver through the defense. If Elroy van Basten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Youri Nedergaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Nathan van Ankeren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Theo Lamey might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabiën Ritsma. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Theo Lamey ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Theo Lamey got free with Fabiën Ritsma in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 40th minute Douwe Bakker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nathan van Ankeren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 44 minutes, Theo Berends mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Crixhoek and the Tiel FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th minute, Theo Berends hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Crixhoek's zone, Douwe Bakker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nathan van Ankeren came out of the goal and Douwe Bakker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Douwe Bakker made a kick off. Carlo de Witte kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douwe Bakker in the 59th minute of play forced Crixhoek's goalkeeper Nathan van Ankeren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Crixhoek's goalkeeper Nathan van Ankeren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Youri Nedergaard. Michael Woudenberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Nathan van Ankeren made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Crixhoek's zone, Douwe Bakker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nathan van Ankeren came out of the goal and Douwe Bakker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Tiel FC's Douwe Bakker, in the 71st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Tiel FC. When Crixhoek's Taco Aalst in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tiel FC's goalie prevented a goal. Douwe Bakker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nathan van Ankeren having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Douwe Bakker got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 92 minutes into the game, Tiel FC's Douwe Bakker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nathan van Ankeren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1.
