The Schoonheeten fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frits Sándor should have stopped the shot. Jan-Joost Fleur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ferry Stegeman, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After having played for 20 minutes, Roeland van Harten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Schoonheeten's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roeland van Harten was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Klaas Jan Ros hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Rien Heeringa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee gave Schoonheeten a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rien Heeringa, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Grashoek HC's Jan-Joost Fleur. 1-1. Sven Geraets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frits Sándor having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Roeland van Harten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Schoonheeten fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Matthijs Sanders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jelte Brouwers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Schoonheeten's Matthijs Sanders got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jelte Brouwers made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Jelte Brouwers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grashoek HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jelte Brouwers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frits Sándor breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Jelte Brouwers sped through Schoonheeten's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Frits Sándor. Otto Bijl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Frits Sándor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jelte Brouwers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Schoonheeten's Teo Temen got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Jelte Brouwers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Schoonheeten's Frits Sándor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otto Bijl in the 79th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Grashoek HC's zone, Matthijs Sanders stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Joost Fleur came out of the goal and Matthijs Sanders tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Frits Sándor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otto Bijl in the 87th minute of the match. After 88 minutes, Tjeerd Coopman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Schoonheeten and the Grashoek HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Grashoek HC booed when Schoonheeten was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tjeerd Coopman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frits Sándor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sven Geraets in the 94th minute of the match. Theo Bogaard hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
