Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jelte Brouwers got the match started through his kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Ruud Masker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Schoonhoven's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruud Masker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Joost Fleur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcel Koekkoek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jan-Joost Fleur came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Schoonhoven's Marcel Koekkoek. But to his dismay, Marcel Koekkoek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Joep Reinhard kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Sven Geraets recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jelte Brouwers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ed Kaspers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 18 minutes, Otto Bijl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grashoek HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Otto Bijl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Otto Bijl's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ed Kaspers read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. After 25 played minutes Grashoek HC got a freekick which was hit by Sven Geraets. In the 28th minute, Otto Bijl fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Ruud Masker struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Jan-Joost Fleur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schoonhoven. 33 minutes into the match, Schoonhoven's Guus van der Leegte broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Marcel Koekkoek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jan-Joost Fleur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 43 played minutes Grashoek HC got a freekick which was hit by Jelte Brouwers. Schoonhoven's Ruud Masker got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Grashoek HC's zone, Marcel Koekkoek stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Joost Fleur came out of the goal and Marcel Koekkoek tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ruud Masker stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jan-Joost Fleur showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud Masker, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. If Jelte Brouwers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ed Kaspers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otto Bijl in the 61st minute of the match. Mark Roeters kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. A collision led to Schoonhoven getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Auke Eising hit a great ball. In the 72nd minute, Jelte Brouwers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grashoek HC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 76th match minute, Schoonhoven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joep Reinhard to maneuver through the defense. After 77 played minutes, Grashoek HC's Giovanni van Baarle shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ed Kaspers came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Grashoek HC reached it. 87 minutes into the match, Otto Bijl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ed Kaspers. Schoonhoven's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Otto Bijl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 91 minutes into the match, Grashoek HC's goal looked a bit too open when Joep Reinhard came free, but Jan-Joost Fleur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otto Bijl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Auke Eising hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Grashoek HC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Schoonhoven had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
