After 6 played minutes Ruwaard FC got a freekick which was hit by Martien Reints. After 14 minutes, Edward Luijpers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ruwaard FC and the Plaggenborg FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ruwaard FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Edward Luijpers hit a great ball. Wilfred Konterman made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Ferdinant Roordink sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Ron Haremeijer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ruwaard FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ron Haremeijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilfred Konterman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sjaak Rodenboog received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Foeke Brons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sjaak Rodenboog fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Foeke Brons having to interfere. Foeke Brons didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wilfred Jaliens went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Wilfred Jaliens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Foeke Brons having to interfere. When Marco Palsma fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ruwaard FC's protests and gave Marco Palsma a yellow card for diving instead. Foeke Brons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilfred Jaliens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Plaggenborg FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd match minute, Ruwaard FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jim Heeringa to maneuver through the defense. 54 minutes into the match, Ruwaard FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sjaak Rodenboog came free, but Foeke Brons reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Ferdinant Roordink managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ruwaard FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ferdinant Roordink was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. It was beautiful to see Ruwaard FC's Martien Reints in action when he in the 68th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ron Haremeijer in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilfred Konterman saved Plaggenborg FC from getting behind. If Wilfred Jaliens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the game, Ferdinant Roordink cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Wilfred Konterman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ron Haremeijer's late challenge caught a Plaggenborg FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ron Haremeijer helped the player get up and apologised. Ron Haremeijer kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Wilfred Konterman didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Ruwaard FC's Ron Haremeijer shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-1 in the ordered_time% minute.
