In the 45th match minute, Plaggenborg FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefano Saenen to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Koopmans in the 47th minute of play forced Plaggenborg FC's goalkeeper Wilfred Konterman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

52 minutes into the match, Sjaak Rodenboog had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan Hendrik Waterreus. Volkelstraat HC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sjaak Rodenboog was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Gooitzen Kosterman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. After 64 minutes, Huub Alkema mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Plaggenborg FC and the Volkelstraat HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sjaak Rodenboog was extremely unlucky when he, in the 91st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Volkelstraat HC's Jan Hendrik Waterreus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sjaak Rodenboog in the 93rd minute of play.
