Roland van den Eede took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan van Hintum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hugo Hartlief fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorn Meulman having to interfere. After 22 minutes, Thijs Thijsse mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Opperdoes S.V. and the Spik FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jack Brinker was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 23rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jorn Meulman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Hartlief in the 24th minute of the match. Thijs Thijsse hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Adriaan van der Struijk recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adriaan van der Struijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 48 minutes into the match, Spik FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan van Hintum came free, but Roland van den Eede reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Opperdoes S.V.'s Jorn Meulman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anthony Westra in the 54th minute of play. When Jack Brinker fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Spik FC's protests and gave Jack Brinker a yellow card for diving instead. In the 58th match minute, Spik FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Brinker to maneuver through the defense. Adriaan van der Struijk struck a weak shot in the 60th minute.
